The physics, artwork, and ideas at its core should make you scream with delight because they do something rarely. If you like stealth/assassin games give this one a go, I think you'll like it. Shadwen is a game you want to love, but no matter how hard you try you can’t. Because I struggled quite a bit with that playthrough and experienced quite a bit of frustration I'm rating this game a 4/10. If it weren't for the "no kills" playthrough this game, hands down, would've been easier than The Walking Dead for me and I would've rated it a 1/10. ![]() It also sometimes helps when you're in a situation where you want to take out multiple guards at once or you come across an armored guard (you can't sneak up on and backstab these types of enemies) and you don't have a ledge to jump from to perform an air to ground attack or an object to push down on top of them - these weapons really come in handy then! It makes the game even more enjoyable tinkering around with the weapons, setting traps and so on. On a side note and though it's not necessary to get through both playthroughs I'd highly recommend going out of your way to loot chests and get blueprints for weapons and the materials needed to craft them. Shadwen was created by the same folks that gave us Trine which was a sort of spiritual successor to The Lost Vikings. So if you're having trouble at all in your "no kills" playthrough just hang in there because it DOES get better. In some ways the game is very innovative. ![]() Once you get the "no kills" playthrough out of the way this game really does begin to shine and becomes not only a lot more fun but a hell of a lot easier as well. However, if you read further on in the above mention thread you'll also see that I began to warm up to the game and actually really enjoy it. If you read my comment in the thread titled "I'm Seriously Losing My Mind With This Horrible Game" you'll see that I was a tad bit harsh on the game but only because the "no kills" playthrough was driving me absolutely bat shit! I hated that playthrough and struggled quite a bit between the severely limited options of distraction tools at my disposal and the completely retarded girl you had to get from cover to cover.
